The 10th edition of the Stanbic National Schools Championship (NSC), launched on March 17, 2025, under the theme “The Battle of Champions,” is set to spark creativity and entrepreneurship among Uganda’s secondary school students. Organized by Stanbic Bank Uganda, the NSC has transformed over 540,000 learners across 1,000 schools, equipping them with vital skills like collaboration, critical thinking, and business acumen. In 2024, St. Joseph’s High School Namagunga clinched the Student-Spark category with an eco-friendly, solar-powered mower, exemplifying the program’s emphasis on innovative, practical solutions.
This year, 150 schools will vie for UGX 150 million in prizes, with top teams earning an exposure trip to South Africa. From just 10 schools in 2015, the NSC now engages over 250, boasting a legacy of over 200 student-launched businesses, 90 of which secured capital grants. Past champions, like Kyebambe Girls SS (2021) and Comboni College School (2023), highlight the championship’s power to turn ideas into impact, inspiring a new generation to tackle real-world challenges with boldness and ingenuity.
