Muwala Malcolm Williams is the Head Prefect Greenhill Academy, Kibuli Campus. He is a Senior Six student majoring in Divinity, Entrepreneurship and Literature. He entails a unique passion for leadership and rugby, a sport he enjoys for its gigantic stress relieve capability to him. In an exclusive with SCHOOL NEWSPAPER, he shares his own experience balancing leadership, academics and having fun.

QUESTION: How does Greenhill Academy describe her Head Prefect as?
ANSWER:  Well my role is as easy as spelling A B C however gets perplexing reaching the K L M, I particularly do much of an eagles monitoring over the cabinet. I am the overall commander of the body tasked with organizing the student system alongside my coo’s.

My Head Teacher once tricked me into moving out of class while the lesson was on motion. On reaching his office, during the conversation he reminds me of how I went against my principles of doing the right things in the right time at a right place and time..

QUESTION: The thought of being a Head Prefect doesn’t develop in one nigh…?
ANSWER:  Your definitely right, it is something that was sparked right from my Senior Two, by then I was just any ordinary prefect so I dared.

QUESTION: How does it feel like, the satisfaction in accomplishing the dare?
ANSWER:  It’s remarkable, I still appreciate myself for having to push myself right from Senior Two amidst all the associated challenges, but I made it and now I am the man of the occasion.

QUESTION: So far so well, did you at any point during your continuing reign encounter a remarkable moment?
ANSWER:  Yes, I remember while taking our oaths. I tumbled in front of keen listening audience. The entire school laughed hard on me.

QUESTION: Did you at the end manage to finish your oath around such a draining atmosphere?
ANSWER:  Yes, I did first apologize though for my mistake for Greenhill Academy is a school filled with highly intelligent students.

QUESTION: Speaking of the numbers of intelligent students associated with an institution you seem to be running, how have you managed to not be outsmart by your subjects?
ANSWER:  I have just mastered the art of bringing a common ground for all students to stand on. Not at any point in time has Greenhill Academy as an institution down looked a particular section of students. Right from orientations, we are all categorized as equals so unnecessary competition is minimized.

QUESTION: What lessons have you in particular drawn from your position so far?
ANSWER:  Doing right things in the right time at a right place and time.

QUESTION: There seems to be a history attached to saying?
ANSWER:  It may look silly however it’s important to always important to keep note of it.

QUESTION: Why say so?

QUESTION: We call it checkmate in chess!
ANSWER:  Yeah, and that was big one, haven’t yet recovered from it.

QUESTION: Speaking of checkmates, your leadership doesn’t only stop in the suit, to the field of tackles…
ANSWER:  Rugby to me is a game I play with lots of passion attached to it. At times being a student celebrity is hard and so I go to the field unleashing every bit of stress in tackles.

QUESTION: Haven’t you taken a majority chunk of your teammates to the hospital already cause SCHOOL NEWSPAPER imagines you being worked out every week?
ANSWER:  No, of course we apply the sportsmanship into the game and manage to play it safe for the ntire team.

QUESTION: How has your journey been so far with rugby, we do students who struggle to maintain sports, academics and then there’s you with an addition of leadership?
ANSWER:  My journey has been one to remember for last year, 2023 during first term holidays, I was a national team player for the East African games U20 and the feeling hit different you know. Balancing the sailing ship Is a hard one however as I said earlier, I have mastered the art of doing the right things in the right time at a right place and time.

QUESTION: You seem to be having a one ventilating high school experience, any advice the students outside there?
ANSWER:  High school is an amazing experience, enjoy and always remember to be on the good side of the law.
