FIRST DAY IN HIGH SCHOOL
Before joining the school, you inevitably hear a few tales about it, and for the seniors, the stories mostly revolved around bullying. Little did I know, I would witness it in a comical and unexpected manner.
On the first day, we flooded into the school in large numbers, and amidst the crowd appeared a Sudanese kid lugging a gigantic suitcase. The staff checked him in, but there wasn’t enough manpower to assist him in carrying the hefty case to the dorm.
Out of nowhere, the so-called School Bouncer, also known as Vimba, made an entrance. He casually whistled, and the suitcase effortlessly made its way to the dorms. Upon arrival, Vimba, being his curious self, exclaimed, “Hey, bro, your case is heavy! What do you have in there?” He insisted on having it opened.
To everyone’s surprise, the suitcase revealed an array of items – tins of milk, powdered juice, a 5-liter jerry can of kipoli, and various snacks. Vimba, in his authoritative tone, declared, “From today onwards, you’re permitted to eat anything from this case, but not even a spoon from the kipoli.” He even added a warning, stating that if he caught the kid so much as glancing twice at the jerry can, it would result in two knocks on his forehead. The kid, perhaps intimidated, agreed to the deal, and that’s how the unusual arrangement unfolded.
